Is January almost over already? It can’t be true. But yet, here we are with February 2012 set to begin in just over a week. I hope your resolutions for the New Year are still with you. But, if you have left a resolution by the side of the road, I may have one to take its place. Parent/Teacher Conferences are almost here, and I know our teachers would love to talk to you about your children. This is a great opportunity to know, face-to-face, just how your student is doing in school.
As you read this, I know you are saying to yourself “I already know how my kid is doing because I just checked their grades last night on the internet.” And that’s a great thing! Keeping up on your child’s performance, attendance, and food account online is a great tool. I would encourage you all to do that at least once a week. But, there is so much more you can learn from a face-to-face conversation with your child’s teacher. It’s for that reason that I encourage all of you to attend your child’s PTC’s. It is not only important for their educational future, but also for their future as a parent. Seeing how much you care about them and their performance in school will surely carry over to the way they raise their children. So look at your attendance as not only getting the answers you want about your child, but setting the stage for your child to do the same for their children.
I want to thank you in advance for doing all you can to support your child and their education at Creek Valley Schools. Together we will make this a great school year for all of our kids. As always, if you have questions or comments, please contact me at the Elementary School (874-2911), the High School (874-3310), or by email (pningen@panesu.org).
