Terra Nova Quartile Percentages

Creek Valley 9th through 11th Grades

Analysis of Data:

  • Approximately 40% of 9th and 10th graders are scoring in the first two quartiles in Language Arts.  This number is reduced to approximately 30% in 11th grade.
  • 54.5% of 11th graders scored in the first two quartiles in Reading, while this was a relative strength in the 9th and 10th grades.
  • 41% of 11th graders scored in the first two quartiles in Math, while this was a relative strength in the 9th and 10th grades.

Interpretation of Data:

  • Language arts appears to be the most consistent area of concern for the high school level.
  • The graduating class of 2007, 11th graders as depicted in the above graph, appear to have concerns in opposition to the 9th and 10th grades.  This is an unusual trend worthy of further examination.

Disaggregated Data:  Terra Nova Results (NRT)

Due to the merger of Chappell and Lodgepole schools into Creek Valley Schools, NRT scores for 2004 can be used.  In addition to the merger, Creek Valley adopted the Terra Nova test in the spring of 2006.  Therefore, only one year of data with the use of NRT’s are available.

The following graphs, analysis and interpretations are disaggregated data in the Reading Composite subgroup.  Although the SIT evaluated disaggregated data in multiple subgroups prior to the selection of our school improvement goal of reading, Reading most greatly impacts our school improvement goals and is included in the Creek Valley School Improvement profile.
