Course Description
The emphasis in first grade Science is on student observations and data gathering to learn science reflects the belief that students should use the process skills and thinking skills that scientists use to find out how the world works. The process skills that students develop in first grade Science include the following: Observing, Communicating, Classifying, Estimating and Measuring, Inferring, Predicting, Making Operational Definitions, Making and Using Models, Formulating Questions and Hypotheses, Collecting and Interpreting Data, Identifying and
Controlling Variables, and Experimenting.
