Kent Brestel

Kent Brestel was a 1949 graduate of Chappell High School. He played in the senior high band while still in grade school, eventually reaching first chair. He was Chappell High School's first National Arian Award winner and lettered 4 years in both football and basketball. Kent went on to play football at Kearney State College (now known as the University of Nebraska at Kearney) and also found time to play in the college band. Following his college years, he was a successful coach at Omaha Technical High School. Kent's Parents were Art & Bernice Brestel. Kent's sister, Beverly Peters, still resides in Chappell.
